Bristol-based AI company Narwhal Labs has secured £20 million in funding from UK investors to launch DeepBlue OS, an enterprise-grade agentic AI platform designed for regulated industries and government use.

The round includes backing from investors such as Jonathan Swann, supporting the company’s mission to make advanced AI infrastructure accessible across organisations of all sizes.

Turning Missed Interactions Into Revenue

DeepBlue OS is built to address a common challenge across industries: missed or delayed customer responses that lead to lost revenue. The platform replaces fragmented, manual communication processes with autonomous AI agents that operate continuously across voice, SMS, email, and WhatsApp.

The system manages the entire communication lifecycle—from first contact to follow-up—handling enquiries, qualifying leads, booking appointments, and executing workflows without human intervention.

Built For Regulated Environments

Narwhal Labs has designed DeepBlue OS specifically for sectors where compliance and transparency are critical, including financial services, insurance, healthcare, government, and housing.

Its “Glass Box Architecture” ensures that every AI action is fully traceable, auditable, and explainable—addressing key regulatory and operational requirements.

The platform is certified under ISO 27001 and SOC 2 standards and complies with regulations such as GDPR and OFCOM, making it suitable for highly regulated environments from day one.

AI As A Utility

Unlike traditional enterprise AI systems that require large upfront investments and lengthy implementation cycles, DeepBlue OS is delivered as a utility-style service. Organisations can deploy the platform within minutes, with no setup costs or long-term contracts, paying only for usage.

Founder and CEO Luke Sartain emphasised that enterprise-grade AI should not be limited to large organisations with extensive budgets, but should be accessible to businesses of all sizes.

A Multi-Agent System For Scalable Communication

DeepBlue OS is powered by three core AI agents:

  • An inbound agent that acts as a 24/7 receptionist, handling calls and enquiries
  • A lead and case responder that follows up instantly across multiple channels
  • An outbound agent designed for high-volume engagement and workflow execution

The platform also includes an agent builder with pre-configured templates, allowing organisations to customise agents for specific use cases. Integration with CRM and case management systems ensures seamless deployment into existing workflows.

Built For Scale And Global Use

DeepBlue OS is designed to operate across more than 50 languages and multiple jurisdictions, supporting both large enterprises handling tens of thousands of interactions and smaller organisations seeking to automate communication processes.

Its infrastructure enables organisations to scale operations without increasing headcount, while maintaining consistent service quality.

Backing A Practical AI Use Case

Investor Jonathan Swann highlighted that Narwhal Labs is solving a clear and immediate business problem, rather than building experimental AI concepts. By enabling rapid deployment and measurable impact, the platform stands out in a crowded AI landscape.
