Pickmybrain, a startup building AI-powered “Digital Brains” for experts and public figures, has secured €1.8 million ($2.1 million) in a pre-seed round.

The round included backing from business angels such as Garri Zmudze, alongside Raison.app and other undisclosed investors. The funding will support team expansion, product development, and entry into new markets as the company builds infrastructure for AI-driven knowledge monetisation.

What The Company Does

Founded in 2022, Pickmybrain enables professionals, celebrities, and subject-matter experts to create personalised AI models trained on their knowledge. These “Digital Brains” allow users to access guidance on demand, either through AI-generated responses or by submitting more complex queries directly to the expert via asynchronous video.

The platform is designed to address a key limitation faced by experts: the difficulty of scaling their knowledge without dedicating significant time to repetitive interactions or continuous content production. By structuring and training AI on curated, expert-approved materials such as interviews, books, and recorded insights, Pickmybrain ensures that outputs remain aligned with the individual’s perspective.

For users with limited existing digital content, the platform provides tools to capture and organise knowledge specifically for AI training, enabling the creation of tailored advisory models based on verified expertise rather than general internet data.

Market Context / Industry Background

The rise of generative AI is reshaping how knowledge is created, distributed, and monetised. While much of the current ecosystem is built around broad, general-purpose models, there is increasing interest in more personalised systems that reflect the expertise of specific individuals. These systems aim to capture not only factual knowledge but also nuanced perspectives, decision-making frameworks, and domain-specific experience.

At the same time, the traditional creator economy often relies on scale-driven models based on audience size and advertising revenue. Platforms like Pickmybrain reflect a shift toward what can be described as an “expert economy,” where value is derived from direct, utility-based interactions rather than content volume or reach. This transition suggests a move away from passive consumption toward more intentional and outcome-oriented engagement.

This approach aligns with broader trends in professional services and digital platforms, where users are seeking more relevant, context-specific insights rather than generic AI-generated responses. As a result, monetisation models may increasingly prioritise depth over breadth, enabling professionals to leverage their expertise in more structured and scalable ways. This also raises important questions around ownership, authenticity, and the long-term sustainability of digital knowledge assets in AI-driven environments, particularly across emerging global markets and industries.

Founder / Investor Commentary

Sergei Verbitski, founder of Pickmybrain, positioned the platform within the evolving role of AI in professional work, noting that AI is enabling new ways for individuals to share and monetise their expertise. He highlighted the emergence of personalised AI models built around individual knowledge, rather than general datasets, as a key development.

He also suggested that these Digital Brains could evolve into persistent AI assistants capable of maintaining context over time and supporting workflows as integrated digital counterparts.

Growth Plans / Use Of Funds

The €1.8 million funding will be used to expand Pickmybrain’s team, enhance its AI training and product capabilities, and support international growth.

The platform currently hosts more than 1,000 professionals across sectors including sports, entertainment, and business. Future development will focus on improving scalability, refining user interactions, and expanding the range of applications for Digital Brains in both professional and personal contexts.
