Nature Robots, an agri-tech startup, has secured €4 million in seed funding to scale its AI-driven autonomy software for agricultural machinery.

The round was backed by Climentum Capital, Bayern Kapital, and Planetary Impact Ventures. The company plans to use the funding to expand its team, accelerate product deployment, and establish a new office in Munich as part of its international growth strategy.

What The Company Does

Founded in 2022 as a spin-off from the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), Nature Robots develops modular software that enables agricultural machinery to operate autonomously across a wide range of environments. These include large-scale fields, vineyards, orchards, vegetable farms, and more specialised systems such as agri-photovoltaics and agroforestry.

The platform combines high-precision navigation with AI-based monitoring, allowing machines and robots to function autonomously in both standard and complex agricultural settings. Its modular architecture enables manufacturers to integrate selected features into their equipment without building full autonomy systems from scratch.

In addition to automation, the company’s technology supports advanced decision-making tools and spot farming techniques. It also enables the development of lighter machinery, which contributes to reduced soil compaction and improved long-term soil health.

The €4 million seed funding will be used to grow the company’s team and support the opening of a new office in Munich. Nature Robots also plans to accelerate project-specific integration phases, enabling faster deployment of its software across entire machinery fleets.

The company operates from the Agrotech Valley near Osnabrück, a major European hub for agricultural technology. It has previously received support through the EXIST Research Transfer Programme and secured €2.5 million in non-dilutive funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC), alongside additional equity investment from the EIC Fund.

With the new capital, Nature Robots aims to strengthen its presence in core markets and expand the adoption of its autonomy solutions across the agricultural machinery industry.
