VITL, a fast-growing healthcare startup focused on cash-pay medical providers, has raised $7.5 million in a Series A funding round led by SignalFire.

The Nashville-based company is building an e-prescribing platform tailored specifically for clinics operating outside traditional insurance systems — a segment that has expanded rapidly alongside the rise of med-spas, weight-loss clinics, and concierge healthcare practices.

Fixing Outdated Prescribing Workflows

Despite patients paying out-of-pocket for faster and more flexible care, many providers still rely on legacy tools designed for insurance-based healthcare.

Founder and CEO Charlie Jordan launched VITL after recognizing how much time clinicians spend managing prescriptions for treatments not covered by insurance. In many cases, prescriptions are still sent via fax or phone to compounding pharmacies, with limited visibility into pricing or fulfillment timelines.

Bringing Speed And Transparency To Prescriptions

VITL replaces these manual processes with a digital platform that connects clinics to a nationwide network of compounding pharmacies.

The system enables real-time price comparisons and provides tracking similar to e-commerce platforms, giving providers and patients full visibility into prescription status.

According to the company, the platform reduces prescription processing time from minutes to seconds — a significant efficiency gain for clinics handling dozens of orders daily.

Strong Early Traction

Just over a year after launch, VITL has onboarded more than 630 clinics and reached eight-figure annualised recurring revenue, indicating strong market demand.

The company estimates its platform saves clinics up to two full workdays per month by automating what has historically been a slow and opaque workflow.

Riding The GLP-1 And Aesthetic Boom

The growth of cash-pay healthcare is being driven in part by rising demand for treatments such as GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, peptides, and aesthetic procedures like Botox.

As this market continues to expand across the U.S., the number of clinics operating outside traditional insurance frameworks is expected to increase significantly — creating a large and growing opportunity for specialised infrastructure like VITL.

A Focused Approach To A Growing Market

While competitors such as Surescripts and platforms like Jane Software offer prescription capabilities, VITL differentiates itself through its exclusive focus on the workflows of cash-pay providers.

Rather than bundling prescribing into broader systems, the company is building purpose-built infrastructure for a segment of healthcare that has been underserved by traditional software.
