Zipline, an autonomous drone delivery and logistics company, has raised an additional $200 million, bringing its Series H round total to $800 million.

The round includes participation from Paradigm, alongside earlier investors such as Fidelity Management & Research Company, Baillie Gifford, Valor Equity Partners, and Tiger Global. The funding values the company at $7.6 billion and will support the continued expansion of its drone delivery operations across the United States and international markets.

What The Company Does

Founded in 2014, Zipline develops and operates an end-to-end drone delivery system that integrates aircraft, launch and landing infrastructure, and logistics software. The company initially focused on medical supply delivery in Africa, notably transporting blood products in Rwanda, before expanding into broader commercial applications.

Today, Zipline’s platform supports deliveries across multiple sectors, including healthcare, food, retail, and agriculture. Its operations span five African countries, parts of the United States, and Japan. The company offers two primary drone systems: Platform 1, designed for long-range deliveries of up to 120 miles round trip, and Platform 2, a newer system optimized for short-range, on-demand home delivery within a 10-mile radius, carrying payloads of up to eight pounds.

The Platform 2 system is currently deployed in select U.S. markets, including Arkansas and the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where it supports partnerships with retailers such as Walmart and multiple restaurant brands.

Market Context / Industry Background

Drone delivery remains an emerging segment within logistics, driven by demand for faster, more efficient last-mile solutions. While adoption has been gradual due to regulatory, operational, and infrastructure challenges, advancements in autonomous systems and growing consumer acceptance are accelerating deployment in select regions.

Zipline’s vertically integrated approach positions it differently from competitors that rely on third-party logistics networks. By controlling both hardware and software, the company aims to optimize delivery speed, reliability, and cost efficiency. Its expansion reflects broader industry efforts to commercialize drone-based delivery beyond pilot programs and into scalable, revenue-generating operations.

The company’s growth also aligns with increasing demand for rapid delivery services, particularly in urban and suburban environments where logistics density can support frequent, short-range operations.

Founder / Investor Commentary

Founder and CEO Keller Cliffton indicated that the company’s recent progress has exceeded internal expectations, noting that both delivery volumes and user engagement have grown faster than anticipated. He highlighted that customers are increasingly using the service multiple times per day and placing larger orders, contributing to higher average basket sizes.

Cliffton also pointed out that delivery activity in early 2026 outperformed projections, with expectations for further acceleration in the coming months. In response to rising demand, Zipline plans to expand the number of available brands on its platform in the near term.

Growth Plans / Use Of Funds

The newly raised capital will be used to accelerate Zipline’s geographic expansion, particularly within the United States. The company plans to launch operations in additional markets, including Houston, Phoenix, and Seattle, as it scales its home delivery service.

Internationally, Zipline continues to deepen its presence in Africa. The company has secured a new national-scale agreement in Rwanda, enabling the rollout of its Platform 2 system across major urban areas. As part of this expansion, Zipline is also establishing a third distribution center to extend coverage to all hospitals and health facilities in the country.

Overall, the funding will support infrastructure development, market expansion, and continued investment in technology, as Zipline works to scale its autonomous delivery network globally.
