JetScale AI, a Montréal-based AI infrastructure startup, has secured $5.4 million CAD in seed funding to develop software that helps enterprises manage cloud usage more efficiently and reduce both operational costs and environmental impact.

The round was co-led by the Business Development Bank of Canada’s Seed Venture Fund and Diagram Ventures’ ClimateTech Fund, with participation from Telegraph Ventures, Fondaction, Mavrik, Cycle Momentum, and Spring Impact Capital. The financing brings the company’s total funding to approximately $6 million CAD and will support product development, partnerships, and expansion across North America and Europe.

What The Company Does

JetScale AI is building an AI-powered platform designed to automate cloud infrastructure optimisation for organisations with rapidly growing compute workloads. The system connects directly to corporate cloud environments and continuously identifies inefficiencies such as idle resources, underutilised machines, and outdated database configurations.

Using agentic AI, the platform provides diagnostics and actionable remediation plans, often in the form of reviewable code, allowing engineering teams to implement optimisations without extensive manual analysis. The objective is to make cloud infrastructure more predictable, efficient, and less wasteful as enterprises scale their AI and data workloads.

The company primarily targets businesses with complex and fast-expanding cloud footprints, including software firms and e-commerce companies where rising compute demand is driving both cost escalation and energy consumption.

Market Context / Industry Background

The rapid adoption of AI and data-intensive applications has significantly increased cloud infrastructure usage, leading to higher operational costs and growing environmental concerns tied to energy-intensive compute workloads. As organisations deploy more AI models and large-scale data pipelines, managing cloud resources manually has become increasingly complex and inefficient.

While many monitoring tools can detect inefficiencies in cloud environments, fewer solutions actively automate optimisation and remediation. This gap has created demand for intelligent infrastructure management platforms that can dynamically adjust usage patterns and reduce unnecessary compute expenditure.

In parallel, the sustainability implications of cloud computing are receiving greater attention from enterprises and investors, particularly as energy consumption from AI workloads continues to rise. Solutions that combine cost optimisation with emissions reduction are therefore attracting interest from both enterprise customers and climate-focused investors.

Founder / Investor Commentary

Co-founder Mehdi Merai stated that the acceleration of AI adoption has made cloud infrastructure both more expensive and more difficult to manage manually, highlighting the need for automated optimisation solutions. He noted that the company’s approach leverages AI not only as a driver of compute demand but also as a tool to manage and reduce inefficiencies within cloud systems.

JetScale AI was co-created in 2025 by Diagram Ventures alongside Merai and CTO Gabriel De Lisi, both former leaders at Montréal-based AI firm Dataperformers, which was acquired by Deloitte in 2021. Following the acquisition, the founders worked with large enterprise clients and observed a recurring pattern of rising cloud complexity, escalating costs, and increased compute waste with measurable climate implications.

Investors, particularly climate-focused funds, have supported the company based on the potential for its software to reduce energy waste alongside financial costs in large-scale cloud environments.

Growth Plans / Use Of Funds

The newly raised capital will be used to expand JetScale AI’s agentic AI capabilities, strengthen security and compliance features, and develop strategic partnerships as the company scales its platform. The startup also plans to grow its team from around 10 employees to approximately 25 by the end of 2026 to support product development and international expansion.

In addition, the company aims to deepen its presence in North America and Europe, focusing on organisations with significant cloud infrastructure spend and complex AI-driven workloads. By enhancing automation and optimisation features, JetScale intends to position its platform as a core operational layer for enterprises seeking to control cloud costs while reducing their environmental footprint.
