London-based deeptech startup BeyondMath has closed a $10 million seed extension led by Cambridge Innovation Capital, bringing its total seed funding to $18.5 million.
Existing investors UP.Partners, Insight Partners, and InMotion Ventures also participated in the round.
The capital will be used to expand commercial deployment and further develop the company’s generative physics platform.
Reimagining Engineering Simulation With AI
Engineering teams across automotive, aerospace, electronics, and energy sectors face mounting pressure to design increasingly complex systems faster and more sustainably. However, many still rely on traditional simulation software built for legacy computing environments.
BeyondMath aims to modernize this workflow with a foundational AI model trained directly on first-principles physics. Instead of running conventional computational simulations that can take hours or days on supercomputers, the company’s model generates engineering-grade simulations in minutes.
According to BeyondMath, its platform can deliver performance improvements of up to 1,000 times compared to traditional simulation approaches.
Founded in 2022 by Alan Patterson and Darren Garvey, the company has developed what it describes as the world’s largest foundational physics AI model, capable of simulating complex phenomena such as aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, and thermal management.
Applications Across Industrial Sectors
BeyondMath’s technology is designed for use cases spanning automotive and aerospace engineering, semiconductor manufacturing, data center design, and advanced electronics.
The company reports customers among leading manufacturers in these industries and has established strategic partnerships with NVIDIA and AWS to support scaling and infrastructure requirements.
CEO Alan Patterson noted that engineering teams require faster and more flexible simulation capabilities to meet modern design demands. He described generative physics as a fundamentally new approach that could significantly reshape how engineering problems are solved.
Scaling Research And Global Expansion
With the new funding, BeyondMath plans to double its headcount this year while expanding its customer base across Europe, the United States, and Japan. The company will also accelerate its research roadmap to broaden the capabilities of its foundational physics model.
