Hemi Health, a Frederiksberg-based HealthTech startup specializing in migraine, headache, and concussion treatment, has raised €4 million in Seed funding to support international expansion, starting with the Netherlands.

The round was led by Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund (EIFO) and Swiss Health Ventures, with additional participation from Sondo Capital, Alliance Venture Capital, and Crowberry Capital. The investment will primarily be used to scale the company’s digital care platform and broaden access to structured treatment pathways for patients with complex chronic pain conditions.

What The Company Does

Founded in 2023 by Benedicte Grytte Dahl, Anna Løfqvist, Sune K-Holm Nielsen, and Mathias Iversen, Hemi Health operates as a digital-first specialty care provider focused on chronic neurological and pain-related disorders. The company delivers structured, outcome-oriented treatment programmes designed for patients experiencing migraines, chronic headaches, concussions, and related neuroplastic pain conditions.

Its care model combines clinical expertise with a proprietary digital platform that supports diagnostics, personalised treatment planning, continuous symptom monitoring, and coordinated multidisciplinary care. Through its HEMI app, patients can consult specialists via video, track symptoms in digital diaries, and follow structured care programmes tailored to their condition.

While the company initially focused on migraine and headache treatment, it has expanded its services to include concussion and whiplash care, reflecting growing demand for integrated neurological rehabilitation and long-term pain management solutions.

Market Context / Industry Background

Chronic pain and neurological disorders, particularly migraines and post-concussion conditions, represent a significant and often underserved segment of healthcare. Patients frequently face fragmented treatment pathways involving multiple specialists, long diagnostic timelines, and inconsistent follow-up care.

Digital health platforms are increasingly being adopted to address these inefficiencies by offering continuous monitoring, coordinated care, and data-driven treatment optimisation. In Europe, healthcare systems and insurers are placing greater emphasis on outcome-based care models that prioritise measurable progress and cost-effective treatment delivery, particularly for chronic conditions requiring long-term management.

The integration of AI and structured digital programmes into specialty care is also gaining traction, as providers seek to transform multi-year care journeys into more predictable and trackable treatment pathways.

Founder / Investor Commentary

Chief Technology Officer and co-founder Mathias Buch Iversen highlighted the role of AI in improving complex care delivery, noting that emerging technologies can help convert fragmented and prolonged treatment processes into structured programmes with clear progression and measurable outcomes.

Co-founder Anna Løfqvist emphasized the personal and clinical motivation behind the company’s model, explaining that patients with neurological conditions often struggle with unclear and discontinuous care pathways. She stated that the platform was designed to provide coordination, structure, and measurable progress to help patients return to everyday functioning more efficiently.

To date, Hemi Health reports having supported more than 1,000 patients through its multidisciplinary treatment approach, combining digital tools with clinical oversight.

Growth Plans / Use Of Funds

The newly raised capital will be allocated primarily toward further development of Hemi Health’s proprietary digital platform, with a focus on enhancing AI-supported care coordination, monitoring capabilities, and scalable treatment frameworks.

International expansion is a central priority, with the Netherlands identified as the first target market. The company aims to integrate its services into insurance-driven healthcare systems that increasingly value structured and outcome-focused care pathways for chronic conditions.

In addition to digital services, Hemi Health will continue operating its physical clinics in Frederiksberg, Middelfart, and Aarhus, maintaining a hybrid care model that combines in-person treatment with remote specialist support. The company also plans to strengthen partnerships with insurance providers to improve accessibility and reimbursement pathways for patients requiring long-term neurological care.
