Budapest-based drone manufacturer ABZ Innovation has raised €7M to expand production capacity, accelerate product development, and grow its presence in key global markets. The company focuses on heavy-duty drones for agricultural and industrial use, positioning itself as a European alternative in a market largely dominated by Chinese suppliers.
The funding round was led by Vsquared Ventures, with participation from Day One Capital and Assembly Ventures.
Scaling production and global distribution
ABZ Innovation plans to use the capital to scale manufacturing, deepen R&D, and strengthen its international distributor and service partner network. The company’s systems are designed to support revenue-generating services for operators, particularly in agriculture and industrial maintenance, by automating dangerous or repetitive tasks.
The company says demand is rising for robust, locally produced drone platforms that offer reliable supply chains and data sovereignty.
Positioning within Europe’s drone funding landscape
The €7M raise comes amid growing investment activity across Europe’s drone and aerial robotics sector. In 2025, multiple European companies secured funding to expand industrial inspection, long-range autonomy, and defence-focused aerial platforms, highlighting renewed momentum behind non-Chinese drone technologies.
Within this context, ABZ Innovation’s round underscores investor support for mid-scale, hardware-focused manufacturers targeting real-world industrial use cases.
Heavy-duty drones for industrial applications
Founded in 2021, ABZ Innovation develops drones built for spraying, spreading, cleaning, and other specialised tasks that require high payload capacity and durable hardware. The company’s systems are currently used by partners in more than 25 countries, supporting applications across agriculture and industry.
ABZ positions its platform as an end-to-end automation solution rather than a standalone product, combining hardware performance with long-term partner support.
Focus on European autonomy and growth
With the new funding, ABZ Innovation aims to expand its footprint in Europe and beyond, while continuing to develop European-made alternatives that prioritise secure supply chains and operational reliability.
The company says its goal is to make advanced drone technology more accessible, helping operators work faster, safer, and more efficiently as demand grows for automated aerial solutions across industrial and agricultural sectors.
