Zurich-based Assaia has closed a $26.6M Series B round, oversubscribed and led by Armira Growth, as airports worldwide seek automation to manage rising traffic, labour shortages and tighter performance requirements.

Assaia’s platform uses computer vision and AI to deliver real-time insight across apron activities, enabling airports and airlines to detect issues early, automate routine tasks and optimise turnaround performance. The company positions its technology as a foundation for safer, faster and more sustainable airport operations.

CEO Christiaan Hen said the investment marks a milestone for the company, noting that demand for operational AI has surged as aviation returns to record volumes:
“Airports and airlines are adopting automation far faster than before. With Armira’s support, we can accelerate deployment and bring our solutions to some of the most complex hubs globally.”

Technology Already Live At Major International Hubs

Assaia’s suite is used at airports including New York JFK, London Heathrow, Dubai International and Toronto Pearson. By improving gate utilisation and on-time performance, the platform helps reduce delays and operational costs.

The Series B funding will support global expansion and new product development, including the rollout of StandManager, an AI-led planning tool that optimises stand and gate assignments ahead of aircraft arrival to boost predictability in high-traffic environments.
