Spark Cleantech has secured €30M in Series A financing, including €17M in equity. The round was led by 360 Capital and Taranis, joined by the Île-de-France Reindustrialisation Fund, Asterion Ventures and several additional investors.
Founded in 2022 at CentraleSupélec by Erwan Pannier and Patrick Peters, the Paris based company develops solutions to decarbonise high temperature industrial operations across glass, metals, polymers and battery manufacturing.
The company’s patented pulsed plasmolysis technology removes carbon from industrial gases before combustion. The process generates clean hydrogen as an energy source and converts captured carbon into solid nanomaterials used in polymers and batteries. This reduces emissions by up to 85%, requires minimal operational changes, and increases the combined value of outputs several times over.
From pilot deployment to commercial scale
After closing its Seed round in 2023, Spark Cleantech built and deployed its first industrial pilot in under a year, demonstrating strong industry demand. The new capital will support completion of the company’s first production module, qualification of its commercial carbon grades, and expansion of the team by roughly 20 hires across engineering, R&D and commercial functions. Multiple pilots with major industrial partners are already in progress.
Investors see economic viability as key to industrial decarbonisation
According to 360 Capital partner Thomas Nivard, economic sustainability remains the decisive factor in the decarbonisation of heavy industry. Spark Cleantech’s approach — delivering meaningful emissions reduction while improving overall economic output — positioned the company as a compelling investment.
About Spark Cleantech
Spark Cleantech provides modular, on site hydrogen production using proprietary non thermal plasma technology. The process converts methane or biomethane into hydrogen and carbon black, achieving zero or negative carbon footprints with minimal electricity usage. The company delivers cost efficient clean hydrogen solutions for heavy industry and carbon free mobility applications.
