Visual-AI startup Black Forest Labs has secured a $300 million Series B round, bringing the company to a $3.25 billion post-money valuation just two years after its founding.
Created in 2023, Black Forest Labs focuses on building frontier pixel-generation models that produce visuals beyond the limits of traditional cameras. Instead of simply responding to prompts, its systems are designed to infer user intent—allowing enterprises, creators, and artists to generate high-fidelity imagery directly from imagination.
New Investors Join a Loaded Cap Table
The round brings in new co-lead investors Salesforce Ventures and Anjney Midha (AMP), alongside participation from Temasek, Bain Capital Ventures, Air Street Capital, Visionaries Club, Canva, and Figma Ventures.
They join existing supporters including a16z, NVIDIA, Northzone, Creandum, Earlybird VC, BroadLight Capital, and General Catalyst.
Black Forest Labs’ FLUX models have already reached millions of users worldwide. Its open-source releases are among the most used image-generation models on Hugging Face, while enterprise deployments run across platforms such as Fal.ai, Replicate, and TogetherAI.
Major industry players—including Adobe, Canva, Meta, and Microsoft—are building next-generation creative tools on top of the company’s technology.
Pushing Toward Unified Visual Intelligence
With this new capital, the company plans to accelerate development of unified visual-intelligence systems that combine perception, generation, memory, and reasoning—moving beyond image generation toward true multimodal understanding.
