Career discovery platform Find Your Grind has secured $5 million in Series A funding, increasing total investment to $8 million.
The round was led by Echo Investment Capital with additional support from Gross Labs, the investment firm of founder Nick Gross.
Empowering Students To Explore Careers Beyond the Traditional Playbook
Find Your Grind introduces teenagers to modern, often overlooked career paths — from content creation and esports to social media roles and creative industries rarely emphasised in schools.
Gross, a longtime musician known from the 2000s punk scene and former drummer for Goldfinger, founded the company after inviting students into his studio and realising how little exposure they had to emerging professions.
The platform centres on four competencies: self-awareness, career awareness, social awareness, and action awareness.
Its Lifestyle Assessment helps students uncover three lifestyle-aligned career paths — such as creator, humanitarian, or entertainer — followed by personalised step-by-step guidance for what to do after graduation.
Bridging the Gap Between Students and a Rapidly Changing Job Market
Gross notes that young people are entering a world where traditional career guidance fails to reflect how quickly jobs are evolving. Many of the roles students aspire to today didn’t exist a decade ago — and millions of today’s roles may disappear by 2030.
Find Your Grind pairs interactive lessons with real-world insight. Students learn from prominent mentors including Tony Hawk, will.i.am, and Tony Hoffman, who share experiences from their own unconventional career journeys.
An AI-powered Reflective Coach encourages deeper thinking by giving personalised feedback on student inputs.
From Online Lessons to Real-World Opportunities
Beyond the digital platform, Find Your Grind organises workforce development initiatives such as community lifestyle fairs.
Its first city-wide rollout is launching in Oklahoma City, connecting students with local employers and training opportunities that match their lifestyle profile. More cities are planned.
The company reports it has already supported 100,000 students, with ambitions to reach over one million as it scales nationally.
