Delta Charge, a Swedish-German startup pioneering charging and battery-storage infrastructure for electric trucks, has raised €3.7 million in an oversubscribed equity round.

The investment was led by Vireo Ventures and Rethink Ventures, joined by Audi and Allianz executives, German family offices, and founders from Munich’s ClimateTech ecosystem.
“This financing marks a defining moment as we scale our platform and execute our vision,” said Filip Hes, CEO of Delta Charge.

Europe Sees Surging Investment in Battery Storage & Heavy-Duty Electrification

Delta Charge’s raise comes amid a record year for energy-transition infrastructure funding. In 2025 alone, Europe has seen more than €625 million flow into battery-storage and electrification projects—from iwell (€27M) and Terra One (€150M mezzanine) to Sympower (€42M), Co-Power (€6.4M) and Green Flexibility (up to €400M). The momentum reflects the continent’s urgent need for grid flexibility, heavy-transport decarbonisation, and large-scale electrification solutions.

Building a Pan-European Network for Zero-Emission Freight

Founded in 2024 in Munich by Filip Hes, Johannes Kirnberger and Connor Hanafee, Delta Charge integrates battery energy storage (BESS), charging hardware, energy management and fixed-price charging services. Its model enables logistics operators to electrify large fleets profitably while strengthening grid resilience. Backed by Delta Capacity—one of Scandinavia’s leading battery-storage developers—the company plans to deploy over €300 million in infrastructure and deliver 1.8 TWh of clean energy annually by 2030.
“We’re seizing a once-in-a-decade opportunity to meet historic load growth and build a new class of infrastructure at the heart of Europe’s energy transition,” Hes added.

Heavy-Duty Electrification Will Reshape Europe’s Power Demand

Electric truck fleets are expected to drive electricity usage that could soon rival or exceed Europe’s data centres. With grid congestion rising and permitting delays increasing, depot-based charging and battery-supported infrastructure are forecast to attract over €7 billion in investment by 2030. Positioned at the intersection of logistics and energy flexibility, Delta Charge aims to build the backbone of Europe’s zero-carbon freight future.

About Delta Charge

Delta Charge develops and finances a pan-European network of battery-enabled truck-charging depots. By combining BESS, intelligent energy management and fixed-price charging, the company helps logistics and industrial clients reduce operational costs, improve grid stability and accelerate the transition to zero-emission transport
