Skycore Semiconductors, a Denmark-based fabless semiconductor startup building next-generation Power Integrated Circuits (ICs) for AI data centers, has raised €5 million in seed funding.

The round was led by the Amadeus APEX Technology Fund, with participation from First Momentum, Mätch VC, and Balnord. With earlier funding and grants, the company has now secured approximately €7.5 million to date.

Skycore Semiconductors is developing a silicon-validated Power IC platform designed for the extreme power density and efficiency demands of next-generation AI compute infrastructure. As AI factories shift toward 800V High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) architectures—an industry trend recently underscored by Nvidia—Skycore’s compact, power-dense ICs aim to remove one of the sector’s biggest bottlenecks: traditional 54V power systems that struggle to support racks exceeding 200 kW.

The company has already built a portfolio of six patent families, validated its silicon technology, and is pioneering flat, compact power-delivery solutions tailored for data centers pushing the limits of compute density.

“Skycore is solving the power bottleneck limiting AI’s explosive growth,” said Ion Hauer, Principal at APEX Ventures. “Its Power IC technology is a paradigm shift for 800V data center architectures. Skycore is positioned to define how the world powers AI infrastructure.”

Accelerating Toward Commercialization

The new capital will support Skycore’s team expansion, product development, manufacturing scale-up, supply-chain readiness, and co-development projects with strategic partners. The company is engaging with tier-one industry players and preparing its first commercial products built on its validated IC platform.

“Scaling AI compute requires a fundamental rethink of data-center power,” said Pere Llimós Muntal, CEO and co-founder of Skycore Semiconductors. “800V HVDC is the future—and our Power ICs deliver the extreme density, efficiency, and scalable architecture this transition demands. This funding allows us to move from validated silicon to market-ready products.”

Building With—and for—the AI Hardware Ecosystem

Skycore is a Startup Member of the Open Compute Project (OCP) and part of the Berkeley Power & Energy Center (BPEC) at UC Berkeley, alongside Nvidia, Google, Tesla, Intel, and Analog Devices—aligning the company with the world’s leading compute-hardware innovators.

Early financial support came from Morph Capital and Thorbjørn Rønje, whose backing helped validate Skycore’s technology and secure its earliest partnerships.

Skycore’s eight-person team plans targeted growth as it works toward commercial launches with strategic customers in the rapidly expanding AI-infrastructure market.
