French EdTech startup Filiz has raised €6 million from Hexa, marking one of Europe’s largest funding rounds this year for education operations software. The investment combines capital and long-term operational support to help Filiz expand across Europe and grow revenue tenfold within five years.

Founded in 2021 by Maxime and Aurélia Jacquet, the company provides an all-in-one SaaS platform that helps private schools and apprenticeship centers manage their financial, administrative, and academic operations. The company already serves over 500 campuses in France, including Datascientest (Omnes Education), 42, CFA Numia, and Albert School — and has tripled annual recurring revenue (ARR) year-on-year to reach €2 million, all while remaining bootstrapped and profitable.

“Behind every education reform are teams just trying to run their schools well,” said Maxime Jacquet, Co-founder and CEO. “Every week, we meet directors who need clarity in a changing system and tools to ease their administrative burden. Filiz is here to do both — build the infrastructure and help them navigate change with confidence.”

Standing out in Europe’s EdTech landscape

While most 2025 European EdTech rounds in administrative software have remained below €3 million, Filiz’s raise highlights growing investor appetite for platforms that digitize and streamline private education operations.

“Filiz has already built one of the most intuitive products in its category,” said Augustin Celier, Partner at Hexa. “Our partnership is about helping it evolve from a proven French product to a European standard — combining Filiz’s deep market understanding with Hexa’s scaling expertise to build the category leader for higher education operations.”

Meeting the demand for digital transformation in education

Private higher education has doubled enrollment in France over the past two decades, yet many institutions still rely on outdated, fragmented software. Recent French apprenticeship reforms, which link public funding to attendance and employer contributions, have only increased administrative complexity.

The firm is addressing this challenge by evolving into a comprehensive operational platform that connects every aspect of school management — from funding to curriculum planning. The next phase will integrate AI-powered tools to automate tasks, enhance planning, and give school leaders real-time insights into performance and compliance.

“Since the beginning at Albert School, we’ve been using Filiz to manage our apprenticeship contracts,” said Mathieu Schimpl, Founder & COO of Albert School. “The collaboration feels like a true partnership — the product evolves constantly to support us through both internal and external challenges. In 2026, Filiz is a must-have.”

Expansion across Europe

With Hexa’s backing, the startup will expand its footprint beyond France, helping thousands of schools and training centers across Europe modernize their operations and adapt to the growing demand for efficient, transparent, and scalable education infrastructure.
