Proptech startup Dotega has raised €1.3 million in pre-seed funding to expand its digital platform for self-managing homeowners’ associations (WEGs).
The round was led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), with participation from experienced proptech investors, including the founders of Casavi.
In Germany, more than 10 million properties are managed under homeowners’ associations — many still using manual, paper-based systems. Dotega’s mission is to bring these communities into the digital age with a simple, legally compliant web app that allows small associations to manage their properties independently.
“This funding confirms that our approach works,” said Niklas Mocker, co-founder and Managing Director. “With HTGF and our experienced investors, we can accelerate growth, scale our platform, and establish self-management as a real alternative to traditional property management.”
A platform built for autonomy and compliance
Dotega’s web app automates key administrative tasks, including annual statements, financial planning, billing, and digital owners’ meetings. It also provides tools for drafting legally compliant resolutions, managing renovations, and improving energy efficiency — ensuring that even small ownership groups can operate fully in line with German housing law.
The company’s platform is built around three principles: simplicity, legal compliance, and independence from external property managers. This combination allows property owners to take full control of their community management without needing extensive administrative expertise.
Driving digital transformation in property management
With the new funding, the startup plans to expand its product features, enhance user experience, and scale operations to serve more homeowners’ associations across Germany. The goal is to make digital self-management the standard for small and mid-sized WEGs.
