Amsterdam-based Bencis Capital Partners has announced the first and final close of its seventh fund, Bencis VII, at its hard cap of €625 million, completing the raise in just six months.
The milestone marks 25 years since the firm’s first fund in 2000, reflecting sustained investor confidence and long-term success in the European mid-market.
Bencis VII attracted commitments from existing LPs, portfolio company founders, and new institutional investors, underscoring the firm’s strong reputation for partnership-based investing.
“We’re deeply grateful for the trust of our investors, founders, and managers,” said Zoran van Gessel, Managing Partner and Co-founder of Bencis Capital Partners. “Reaching our hard cap so quickly shows the strength of the relationships we’ve built over the past 25 years — and the shared belief in sustainable value creation that drives everything we do.”
Strong track record and consistent returns
Over the past 18 months, Bencis has completed eight successful exits from its Bencis IV Continuation Fund, Bencis V, and Bencis VI, delivering an average MOIC of 7.0x — with more exits expected in 2026.
The firm’s disciplined focus on mid-sized companies has enabled it to consistently generate strong results while helping founders scale their businesses sustainably.
Investing in Europe’s industrial backbone
Founded in 1999 by Zoran van Gessel and Jeroen Pit, Bencis Capital Partners invests in mid-market companies across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, typically with operating results of up to €50 million.
The firm brings deep operational expertise in sectors such as Industry & Manufacturing, Food & Beverages, Services, Healthcare, Leisure, and Retail — areas that form the foundation of Europe’s real economy.
Headquartered in Amsterdam with offices in Brussels/Diegem and Düsseldorf, Bencis currently manages 33 portfolio companies generating approximately €2.5 billion in annual revenue and employing over 13,000 people.
Building for the next 25 years
The close of Bencis VII signals not just another successful fundraise but a renewed commitment to supporting entrepreneurs in building enduring, sustainable businesses across Europe’s core markets.
“Our philosophy has always been about partnership,” added van Gessel. “We invest alongside founders and management teams — empowering them to grow confidently and create lasting impact.”
