Health tech startup Bevel has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by General Catalyst to expand its AI health companion — a platform designed to unify health data from wearables, nutrition, and daily habits into personalized insights for proactive wellness.

The raise caps a breakout year for the two-year-old company, which has grown 8× in the past 12 months and now serves over 100,000 daily active users. Bevel says its app sees 80% retention at 90 days and users open it an average of eight times a day, positioning it among the fastest-growing health platforms in the U.S.

“We think of health as a continuous journey, not a phase,” said Grey Nguyen, co-founder and CEO. “Bevel meets you where you are, learns from your habits, and helps you make small changes that compound over time.”

Rethinking How Health Data Works Together

Most health and fitness tools today focus on isolated metrics — steps, sleep, calories — leaving users to connect the dots themselves. Bevel’s AI health companion fills this gap by integrating multiple data sources into one adaptive experience.

Through Apple Health, Bevel syncs with Apple Watch, continuous glucose monitors like Dexcom and Libre, and soon Garmin and other popular wearables. The app then feeds this data into Bevel Intelligence, its proprietary AI engine that learns each user’s biological patterns and offers tailored recommendations across sleep, movement, nutrition, and stress management.

Unlike many wellness apps tied to proprietary hardware, Bevel is hardware-agnostic — a deliberate move, says co-founder Aditya Agarwal, who also serves as a partner at South Park Commons.

“A $500 ring or band is out of reach for many people,” Agarwal explained. “Our goal is to make health intelligence software-based and accessible to everyone — using the devices they already own.”

Bevel operates on a subscription model priced at $6 per month or $50 per year.

Born from Personal Experience

The idea for Bevel came from Nguyen’s own health struggles. After long startup hours led to chronic back pain that doctors couldn’t diagnose, he began manually piecing together his health data. The culprit turned out to be a mix of lifestyle factors — too much sitting, poor sleep setup, and inflammatory eating habits.

That insight sparked teh company’s mission: to help people uncover the hidden patterns shaping their long-term health.

Agarwal, formerly CTO at Dropbox and one of Facebook’s early engineers, had a similar realization after facing burnout from years of intense work. When he met Nguyen and co-founder Ben Yang (former ML engineer at Opendoor), they shared a vision of building a smarter, more human health companion.

Backed by World-Class Investors

The $10 million Series A follows a $4 million seed round led by South Park Commons earlier this year. General Catalyst’s Managing Director Neeraj Arora praised Bevel’s traction and engagement:

“Bevel’s mission to democratize proactive health through intelligence and design deeply resonates with us. Their engagement levels are extraordinary — Bevel has become part of people’s daily lives, not just another app they forget after a week.”

What’s Next

With the new funding, the company plans to expand its team, deepen integrations with health partners, and launch additional AI-driven features to make proactive health management accessible to everyone.

The company has no plans to build its own wearable hardware — instead focusing on becoming the central intelligence layer for users’ existing devices.
