AI architecture startup Maket has raised $3.4 million CAD in seed funding to enhance its design automation platform and prepare for the launch of Maket 2.0 in early 2026.

The round was led by Amiral Ventures, with participation from Blitzscaling Ventures, BY Venture Partners, Hidden Layers, and Spatial Capital. The new funding brings Maket’s total capital raised to over $4 million CAD since its founding.

Reimagining Architectural Design with AI

Founded in 2021 by Patrick Murphy (CEO), Stéphane Turbide (COO), and Simon Vallée (CPO) — a three-time founder whose previous startups were acquired by Groupon, Figma, and Slack — Maket is building an AI-powered platform that streamlines the early stages of architectural design.

Traditional computer-aided design (CAD) software requires significant training and time. The startup replaces that complexity with an AI-driven design engine that lets architects and builders instantly generate and iterate on floor plans based on user needs, site constraints, and aesthetic preferences.

“This funding validates the incredible progress our team has made — and the market’s belief in a more democratic, accessible approach to design,” said Patrick Murphy, CEO of Maket.

AI Tools for Builders, Designers, and Homeowners

The platform is available to both consumers and professionals. Homeowners can create and visualize designs for $30 per month, while builders, prefabrication manufacturers, and developers can integrate their design libraries and workflows for $1,200 per month.

Key features include:

  • AI Floor Plan Generator – Instantly produces multiple residential layouts based on site, budget, and design constraints.
  • Virtual Designer – Uses generative AI to visualize interiors and exteriors in various styles and materials.
  • Collaboration Tools – Enable rapid iteration and client feedback loops for faster approvals.

The upcoming Maket 2.0 will introduce a next-generation floor plan engine with advanced customization options and photorealistic 3D renders. Future updates will add features for zoning code verification, HVAC planning, and automated material takeoffs, positioning the company as an end-to-end design-to-construction platform.

Momentum and Market Opportunity

Since its 2023 public launch, the company has attracted over 1 million registered users and grown to a 14-person team based in Montréal.

“The strength of the founding team, the surge in AI tooling, and the remarkable early traction of over a million users position Maket to redefine what’s possible in architecture,” said Frédéric Bastien, Managing Partner at Amiral Ventures.

With AI increasingly reshaping how buildings are conceived and designed, the firm aims to make high-quality architectural planning faster, more affordable, and accessible to professionals and homeowners alike.
