French AI startup Ewake, which is building intelligent agents to improve software reliability, has raised €2 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Connect Ventures, with participation from 2100 Ventures, Notion Capital, Insiders, 50partners, and several angel investors including Amirhossein Malekzadeh.
Founded by former Criteo engineers Pooné Mokari (CEO) and Omid Gosha (CTO), Ewake is on a mission to eliminate downtime and reliability headaches for engineering teams.
The company has developed an AI “teammate” that integrates directly into production systems, helping developers maintain software reliability autonomously. Rather than serving as another dashboard, the platform uses a suite of AI agents that proactively monitor systems, detect incidents, recommend actions, and gradually automate repetitive operational tasks.
Operating on top of existing observability and monitoring tools, the agents correlate signals across systems, learn continuously from each company’s unique environment, and provide context-aware insights that help teams prevent issues before they cause disruption.
“Software downtime costs the tech industry over $400 billion annually in lost revenue, productivity, and reputation,” said Pooné Mokari, co-founder and CEO of Ewake. “Most tools today just add to the noise — they flood engineers with data instead of solving the problem. Ewake is different: it acts as a teammate that understands the system, finds the root cause, and helps engineers act fast.”
Tackling the hidden cost of unreliability
The company was founded to address a growing pain point: the trade-off between speed and reliability in modern software development. As delivery cycles accelerate, engineers spend increasing time triaging incidents and maintaining uptime — work that’s often manual, reactive, and siloed.
Unlike conventional observability platforms designed primarily for site reliability engineers (SREs), Ewake’s solution is built for developers. It embeds directly into workflows, helping teams ensure reliability without slowing innovation.
“Ewake is flipping software reliability on its head,” said Pietro Bezza, Managing Partner at Connect Ventures. “The real value isn’t in collecting endless data — it’s in analysing, triaging, and fixing issues quickly. Ewake’s AI teammates do just that, letting engineers focus on building instead of firefighting.”
Expanding product and team
Coming out of stealth, the startup will use the new funding to expand its AI agent suite and grow its Paris-based engineering and product teams. The company aims to advance its agentic AI capabilities, giving developers tools that can autonomously investigate incidents, prioritise fixes, and maintain code quality at scale.
By combining deep technical understanding with adaptive learning, the startups’s technology aims to redefine how reliability engineering is done — from reactive monitoring to proactive resilience.
