Melbourne-based Heidi Health, a fast-growing healthcare AI company, has raised $65 million in a Series B round led by Point72 Ventures, the investment firm backed by billionaire Steve Cohen.

The new funding will accelerate Heidi’s expansion across the U.S. and Australia, while advancing its mission to make clinical documentation and patient interaction smarter and more efficient.

From digital scribe to full clinical co-pilot

Founded in 2021 by Dr. Thomas Kelly, Dr. Alexander Plavin, and Michael Law, Heidi Health began as an AI-powered digital medical scribe — automatically generating notes from doctor–patient conversations. Since then, the company has evolved into a comprehensive AI assistant for clinicians, capable of handling real-time note-taking, diagnosis support, follow-up coordination, and compliance documentation.

Heidi’s platform integrates directly with electronic health record (EHR) systems, reducing the time clinicians spend on paperwork — often up to 40% of their day — and allowing them to focus on patient care.

“Clinicians everywhere are drowning in admin,” said CEO and co-founder Dr. Thomas Kelly. “Heidi exists to give that time back — to remove the friction between doctors and patients and restore the human side of healthcare.”

Global investors back a new kind of healthcare infrastructure

The Series B was led by Point72 Ventures, with participation from Blackbird Ventures, Hostplus, and Right Click Capital. The round follows Heidi’s $10 million Series A in 2023 and brings total funding to over $80 million.

According to Point72 Ventures partner Tripp Shriner, “Heidi is not just an assistant — it’s becoming a core part of clinical infrastructure. The team has combined deep medical insight with world-class AI engineering to solve one of the biggest pain points in healthcare today.”

Transforming clinical workflows with AI

Heidi Health’s platform listens to clinician–patient conversations, generates structured notes in real time, and updates medical records automatically. Its AI models are trained on hundreds of thousands of anonymized consultations and continuously improve through supervised fine-tuning from real clinical feedback.

The result: faster documentation, fewer errors, and a dramatic reduction in administrative burnout — one of the leading causes of clinician turnover worldwide.

Today, Heidi Health is already used in thousands of clinics across Australia and the United States, supporting general practitioners, specialists, and allied health professionals.

Scaling to the U.S. and beyond

With the new capital, Heidi will focus on expanding its U.S. presence, building out integrations with major EHR systems, and hiring across engineering, product, and clinical operations.

“The U.S. healthcare system is where administrative overload is felt most acutely,” said Kelly. “We’re seeing huge interest from health networks and private practices looking to transform how care is delivered — Heidi is their co-pilot.”

The company also plans to expand its product line with new AI-driven modules for care coordination, clinical triage, and population health management.
