Münster-based clockin, the German startup making digitalisation and AI accessible to deskless teams, has secured €10M in growth capital to accelerate expansion across Europe.

The round was led by Amsterdam’s Newion and NRW.Venture (Düsseldorf), with participation from existing backers Scalehouse Capital and D11Z. Ventures.

Tackling the deskless gap

An estimated 80% of Europe’s workforce operates outside traditional offices—in sectors like healthcare, trades, and SMEs—yet most still rely on manual processes and paperwork. This leaves huge productivity gaps and makes digital adoption difficult.

Founded in 2018 by Frederik Neuhaus (CEO), Jonas Tünte (CMO), Daniel-Dominic Schlief (CPO), Fabian Ebbert (CSO), Benedikt Dreier (COO), and Florian Nolte (CTO), clockin was designed to bridge that gap.

Its platform automates HR and operational processes like time tracking, scheduling, absence management, project planning, and documentation—allowing SMEs to integrate mobile employees seamlessly into company workflows.

“We want nothing less than to free companies and people from paperwork,” said Frederik Neuhaus, co-founder and CEO of clockin. “By bringing all employees into the AI age, especially in small businesses, we’re unlocking enormous potential for millions of companies.”

Backing from leading investors

The round was led by Newion, one of Europe’s leading early-stage B2B software investors.

“The deskless workforce is a gigantic, previously neglected market,” said Mathijs de Wit, Managing Partner at Newion. “clockin has the potential to become the leading platform in Europe.”

Also joining was NRW.Venture, the venture arm of NRW.BANK, which focuses on high-growth German companies, typically committing up to €15M across financing rounds.

Scaling across Europe

More than 6,000 companies already rely on clockin’s software, with adoption driven by its practical, straightforward, and easy-to-use design. The new capital will be used to expand clockin’s AI-driven functions, enhance its product for mobile working teams, and scale operations across European SMEs.

The company has been recognised by programs such as German Accelerator and Scale-up.NRW, and was awarded the NRW Innovation Award for its impact on SME digitalisation.

Looking ahead

With the deskless economy booming and labour shortages growing across Europe, clockin aims to become the go-to platform for SMEs seeking to streamline operations, reduce paperwork, and empower field teams with AI-driven tools.
