PATS, a Delft-based agri-tech startup developing automated pest monitoring and control systems, has raised €2.7M in seed funding.

The round was backed by Division Q, Percival Participations, Delft Enterprises, and a group of tech and horticulture investors.

Replacing pesticides with smart pest control

Founded in 2018 as a spin-out from Delft University of Technology, PATS builds AI-driven systems that help growers detect and manage pests while reducing reliance on chemicals. Its portfolio includes:

  • PATS-C: tracks flying pests in real time.
  • Trap-Eye: developed with Biobest, monitors insects caught on sticky traps.
  • PATS-Vinder & Kalendar: predict outbreaks and guide intervention planning.

Together, these tools enable growers to act earlier, cut manual scouting, and support biological control strategies.

CEO Bram Tijmons said:

“By turning real-time pest data into targeted advice, we help growers act earlier, smarter, and more sustainably. And for persistent pests, our bat-inspired drones will play a crucial role in integrated pest control.”

Scaling to meet global demand

The startup already delivers over 1,000 sensor systems monthly and operates in more than 25 countries, serving vegetable, flower, and plant growers worldwide. The new capital will accelerate product development, expand deployment across regions, and support the company’s vision of replacing insecticides with technology-driven solutions.
