Hive Robotics, a Munich-based robotics startup, has raised €2M in an oversubscribed pre-seed round to grow its engineering team and accelerate development of its collaborative systems.
The round was led by b2venture, with participation from Firedrop, Pareto, Matthias Hilpert, Klocke Group, and several angels.
Building resilient, multi-platform autonomy
Founded in 2025, Hive Robotics is developing modular systems that integrate control, perception, localisation, and secure communications to allow unmanned systems to operate even in GPS-denied environments. Its Onboard AI and distributed sensor fusion enable drones, ground vehicles, and maritime robots to collaborate as a unified system.
At the core is its C3 (Command, Control, Connect) architecture, which simplifies robotic complexity and makes swarming, cross-domain collaboration possible.
Real-world applications
Potential use cases range from wildfire detection using drone swarms, to disaster search-and-rescue missions, to defence and infrastructure monitoring. Hive’s technology is also designed for scalability across civil, defence, and even space applications.
CEO and co-founder Sebastian Mores noted:
“While the core technologies have existed for years, true integration into human environments requires rigorous safety, robust security, and globally aligned standards. Systems need to seamlessly work together, and that’s what we’re building.”
Addressing market demand
As demand for autonomous systems accelerates into multi-billion-dollar annual markets, Hive aims to tackle key hurdles: meeting safety standards for use in populated areas and ensuring integration across air, land, sea, and space domains.
With the new funding, Hive Robotics will expand its team and push forward its roadmap for scalable swarming systems designed for industries ranging from defence and critical infrastructure to mining and space exploration.
