What started in Brampton as a small team building solutions to make hiring fairer and workplaces more accessible is now going global. Enabled Talent, a company born and built in Brampton, is launching Enabled Africa — an initiative to connect people with disabilities to jobs and make workplaces across West and Central Africa truly inclusive.
With support from the UNICEF Startup Lab, Enabled Africa will first launch in Ghana and Nigeria, then expand to Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and beyond. The need is urgent: across the region, over 60 million people live with disabilities, and in some countries, more than 70% remain unemployed despite having skills and qualifications.
One example is Ama, a blind accounting graduate from Ghana who struggled for years to find stable work. Today, with Enabled Africa’s Eynable voice assistant and connections to inclusive employers, she works as a financial auditor, moves confidently through her workplace, and mentors other young professionals with disabilities.
The Mission
Enabled Talent want to make sure people with disabilities have the same chance as anyone else to get a job, grow in their career, and work in places that welcome them. They do this by giving employers the tools they need to hire fairly and by giving job seekers the support they need to succeed.
The Vision
The company see a future where no one is left out because of a disability. In this future, every workplace, school, and community is designed so everyone can take part fully — from the first day they apply for a job to every day they work there.
