Sennos, a North Carolina-based startup formerly known as Precision Fermentation, has raised $15 million in fresh funding to scale its real-time analytics platform for fermentation-based industries.
The round was led by TomEnterprise, founded by former EQT CEO Thomas von Koch and investor Jan Ståhlberg, bringing the company’s total funding to over $20 million.
At the intersection of AI and industrial fermentation, Sennos is helping breweries, biofuel producers, and biotech manufacturers replace guesswork with data. Its platform combines real-time sensing, predictive analytics, and automation to optimize fluid-based manufacturing processes—starting with brewing and expanding into sectors like alternative proteins, pharmaceuticals, and biomanufacturing.
“This investment accelerates our mission to become the industry standard in precision fermentation monitoring,” the company told TFN. “We’re rapidly scaling in beverage and brewing while extending our reach into adjacent markets.”
AI That Listens to the Tank
Sennos’ modular M3 sensor system and BrewIQ platform give operators a continuous stream of live fermentation data, allowing for instant adjustments and predictive insights. In contrast to traditional brewing methods—often reliant on manual sampling and delayed lab results—Sennos offers brewers unprecedented visibility and control.
By reducing process variability, minimizing waste, and improving product consistency, Sennos helps manufacturers stay agile amid rising input costs, supply chain disruptions, and sustainability demands.
“By 2026, we want to support every stage of fluid and fermentation production,” said the company. “We’re also heavily investing in advanced analytics and predictive modeling so customers can engage deeper with their data.”
From Brewing to Biotech
Founded in 2017 by Jared Resnick, Sennos draws on decades of experience across the food-tech and life sciences industries. Resnick, formerly COO of Mimetics, built tools to model biological networks and later pivoted into fermentation, launching Precision Fermentation with a vision to digitize and automate a traditionally analog process.
Since then, Sennos has quietly built the world’s largest real-time fermentation dataset, fueling its AI models with insights no other player can match. This unique position allows it to compete above basic tools used by homebrewers and well below siloed, expensive lab equipment used in pharma.
“We sit between low-end homebrewing gadgets and disconnected lab instruments,” the company explained. “What sets us apart is our platform’s ability to integrate across production systems and pull insights from any data source.”
Brewing the Future
Sennos’ platform isn’t just for making better beer—it’s laying the groundwork for smarter, scalable manufacturing across critical industries. From optimizing yeast performance in alt-protein production to reducing contamination risks in pharma, the applications are wide-reaching.
The latest funding will support global expansion, hiring across R&D and go-to-market teams, and the continued development of intelligent, self-improving systems that adapt with every use.
“Great innovation starts with understanding,” said Jared Resnick, CEO. “We built Sennos to give brewers—and eventually all fluid-based manufacturers—that understanding in real-time. This round fuels our push to bring that capability to new sectors like biofuels and pharmaceuticals.”
With its AI-powered platform, industry-scale dataset, and new funding, Sennos is poised to transform how the world brews, blends, and bio-manufactures—turning one of the oldest processes on Earth into one of the smartest.
