A San Francisco-based career marketplace for permanent healthcare workers, Incredible Health, received $80M in Series B funding, led by Base10 Partners. The company is valued at $1.65B.

Andreessen Horowitz and Obvious Ventures also invested in the company again, along with other existing investors.

Besides Workday CEO Chano Fernandez, NBA Champion Andre Iguodala, Rethink Impact, and the D’Amelio family (through their Stardust Equity Fund), other great health customers Kaiser Permanente also gained new investors. The new investors included the 444 Capital Fund led by D’Amelio family.

How will the funding be used?

Nurse hiring has become increasingly important as health systems and employees need to manage an increasing number of patients. The company is receiving funding to help with their efforts to spread nationwide and continue developing innovative methods of hiring nurses, amidst a shortage in the industry.

Helping healthcare workers find and do their best work is the mission of the company.

Iman Abuzeid, MD, CEO and co-founder of Incredible Health believes that nurses are the backbone of the US health care system. They need adequate staffing and tools to be successful in their job, says Abuzeid. His company has created a model that has altered the way that nurses and other healthcare professionals think, and we are going to continue to grow our company to create more change in the industry.

Marketplace

The first and only platform to focus on permanent workers instead of contractors is Incredible Health, founded by Iman Abuzeid and Rome Portlock.

Over 600 hospitals across the country use Incredible Health’s algorithm technology to match their needs with the best nurses. The company has 180 employees working remotely in 35 states and is continuously hiring more people.

In 2021, the company plans to experience a 500% increase in revenue.

The company has gotten rid of the standard 82 days it takes to hire someone, and has added more than 1000 nurses to the marketplace every week.

More than 600 hospitals in the US, including Stanford Health Care, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and NYU Langone Health, among the top 60 percent use Incredible Health for their long-term staffing needs.

UC Davis Health CEO David Lubarsky, MD says that the biggest lesson learned in the past few years is the need to listen to their nurses. Right now, the nurses at UC Davis Health need more colleagues, says Lubarsky. The company has streamlined their hiring process, and has hired Incredible Health to handle many of the details so that they can focus on what matters: listening to their nurses and meeting their needs.

Jamison Hill is a partner at Base10 Partners, and he is excited about Incredible Health joining the Advancement Initiative family. According to Jamison, Incredible Health is special because of how they help health systems find talent, and nurses find jobs. The company is helping out an important need in healthcare, and Base10 Partners is pleased to be a part of its next stage of growth.
